London (PRWEB UK) 19 June 2014
Pride in London 2014 today announced Explovia, London’s Going Out App, as an official app partner, with Explovia to present the festival’s headline act in Trafalgar Square on Saturday, 28 June.
The name of the headline act will be announced exclusively on the Explovia mobile app at 18:00 on Friday, 20 June. The app’s users will be given the opportunity to learn the name of this extremely popular, global performer before anyone else.
Explovia is proud to support the London LGBT+ community and to be involved with Pride in London 2014. Explovia is featuring many Pride events on the app, bringing the biggest, most fun festival of the year straight to smartphones across the capital.
Explovia will be present in Trafalgar Square throughout the day on 28 June, meeting, greeting, and joining in on the day’s festivities.
Jason Keiles, Explovia’s Managing Director, said, “Explovia is extremely proud to partner with Pride in London 2014 and to support London’s LGBT+ community. As London’s Going Out App, we are pleased to promote many of the Pride in London 2014 events on Explovia, enabling our users to discover great events, share them with their friends and book their tickets within the app. Our goal is to become the go-to social app for London, and we look forward to providing the LGBT+ community with the best the city has to offer…for years to come.”
Michael Salter, Chair for Pride in London, said: “Partnering with Explovia brings Pride in London to a whole new audience. Pride is a celebration of London’s LGBT+ community that runs for a whole week, featuring an array of events from thoughtful to the decadent. Explovia users can discover them all!”
Explovia was named one of the Best New Apps for tablets and smartphones by MSN.
Explovia has been the official app partner to the London Vaults Festival and Camden Crawl 2014.
The Mayor of London has committed to providing funding for the Pride in London celebrations for five years. Support in 2014 encompasses the parade in central London, activities in Trafalgar Square and events in Soho on Saturday 28th June; a ‘picnic in the park’ on Sunday 29th June; and other activities, including a fundraising dinner and an ‘Audience with…’ event in the Festival Week’ running up to the Pride weekend.

Explovia is a free mobile messaging app on iOS an Android designed to spark conversations around events worth sharing in London.
Explovia lets users browse a curated shortlist of London events, buy tickets within the app and invite friends via a unique free messaging function.
Explovia is serving users up a spectrum of eclectic London events and experiences; ranging from guest list access at West End nightclubs to East London comedy shows, to museum and theatre tickets, to Festivals such as Pride in London 2014, and everything in between.
Users are able to customise their ‘Explore London’ feed to see not only what’s happening across the next month but also to specify where and when they want it. As you’d expect from an app, booking is a simple, two tap process; Explovia stores your tickets and/or guest list bookings in its ‘My Tickets’ mobile wallet, making it possible for users to walk right into the venue with their iPhone serving as their proof of entry.
Where Explovia really begins to look very different to the obvious competitors, however, is that it’s built on a free messaging service. Upon registration, Explovia accesses users’ iPhone contacts, in the manner of Viber and WhatsApp, to set users up to free message friends and, in the language of the app, spark conversations.
