On January 20th, 2009 the White House promised to publish legislation on their website “for five days, and allow the public to review and comment before the President sign it.” Nine months later, the President has not lived up to his promise. Since the President has failed to live up to his word, I am making H.R. 3200 available for public comment through a new technology called Sharedbook.
Residents of District Seven can visit my website to read and comment on the health care bill scheduled to hit the house floor sometime next month. H.R. 3200 will directly affect every person in my district and it is essential that you have the ability to read this bill and provide me with your feedback. I hope that by making this bill available for public comment, we will set a precedent for future legislation and restore the public trust in government by raising the level of openness, order, and discourse.
To view the bill and leave your comment, please visit my website or click here.
